Random Act Of KINDness V: Trick or [Healthy] Treat!


Happy Halloween!

Whether you’re dressing up in a fun costume, taking the kids trick-or-treating, or simply staying at home bobbing for apples (and/or drinking pumpkin beer)- I hope you’re having fun!

Since it’s Halloween, I figured that it would be nice to give you a treat rather than a trick. And really, who says that “treats” have to be full of sugar, high fructose corn syrup and processed beyond recognition? Don’t get me wrong… I’ve certainly enjoyed my fair share of fun-size candy bars throughout my life, but on most days I’d rather just have one of these!

And with nutritional stats like these (and super low sugar!), this treat isn’t going to end up on my thighs.

You probably know that I’m a BIG fan of KIND bars- and the KIND company in general. They’ve been good to me, and they’ve also been very good to several of you readers! I want to continue to spread the KIND love by offering one of you a whole bag full of treats, chock full of KIND goodies!

  8. Lol, I want a tshirt so I can be cool like you! Greek yogurt smoothies are high on my list, though Im not sure its a “treat” because I have one almost every day!

  9. How am I supposed to pick just one?! For awhile I was doing a lot of protein muffins and absolutely loving them! From zucchini to pumpkin to chocolate, they have all been amazing! And a bowl of cereal is always a good choice in my opinion too… ;)

  19. My fav kind of healthy snack is hummus and veggies!!! MMMMMM!!! I love hummus!! I also love KIND snacks of course… YUM YUM!! :-)

  20. My healthy treat right now is butternut squash soup-not very treat like but it satisfies very type of craving I have. I don’t use a recipe but just throw it together. I am planning on making a large batch this week to freeze.

  23. The only time I’ve bought KIND bars was in the airport, and I have no idea why I don’t buy them more often. Because they are stupidly delicious. We have Kashi granola bars on auto-delivery from Amazon so they’re our go-to healthy snack, I wonder if we can get KIND instead… Kashi is good, but not nearly as good. I can’t really cook so I have also been known to just snack on tofu from the container, covered with soy sauce and Sriracha. It’s better than it sounds, really!

  24. Hi there! I absolutely love kind bars. I think my favorite healthy treat would be a pumpkin pie smoothie – pumpkin puree, frozen banana, almond milk, pumpkin pie spices, and protein powder all whirled up. So tasty!

  33. My favorite healthy treat is to melt some semi-sweet chocolate chips and dip slices of banana in them! Yum!

  35. This is a great time of year for healthy snacks as I love to eat roasted pumpkin seeds seasoned almost any way, fresh apple slices with nut butters, and a cup of steamy hot apple cider!

  41. My favorite healthy treat? It depends on the season. In the fall I love apples warmed slightly in the microwave sprinkled with cinnamon.

  43. My favorite healthy snack is Seapoint Farms dry roasted edamame. Any variety. By the handful.

  44. I LOVE Kind bars. I have them for snacks at least a few times a week–great way to get in healthy fats. Some other favorite snacks are apples w/ peanut butter, avocado on toast and homemade protein cookie cakes with peanut/almond/coconut etc butter. And popcorn. Always popcorn. :)

  48. My favorite healthy treat is baked wasabi or baked garbonzo beans! Basically just throw ‘em in the oven with some EVOO and salt and roast on 400 for 20 minutes or so. Yum!

  49. It’s so hard to choose! I love Arctic Zero “ice cream”…it’s low calorie, high in protein and is perfect for lactose intolerant people like me! I also like to make popcorn in my air popper and top with a little olive oil and salt!

    My current favorite healthy treat is kale chips. Unfortunately not the homemade ones. The raw ones with cashews and awesomeness on them that cost $10 a bag. D’oh

  103. My boyfriend and I love KIND bars but don’t buy them because they are on the pricier side. My favorite healthy snack is a homemade pumpkin muffin :-)

  104. My favorite “healthy” treat is some 0% Greek vanilla yogurt with a little crumbled NON-healthy stuff on top! (Crumbled cookie, carrot cake, etc.)…Satisfying and delicious. :)

  105. Yesterday I chose Reeses Peanut Butter cups that were covered in dark chocolate for my Halloween candy. Anti-oxidants in dark chocolate… so the unhealthy part is cancelled out, yes? Does that count?

    Aside from that, homemade Pumpkin Cranberry Crunch or Peanut Butter Granola cups made with non-dairy chocolate (I.e. they’re vegan!).
