I'm Attending Blend

Chocolate, Hemp, Cider + Dandelions [Product Review!]

Guess what? Christmas is in  just two weeks! Are you ready? I’m certainly not! I’m definitely excited for it, but have a lot more shopping to do. And… we still haven’t made or sent out our Christmas cards. I’m determined to make it happen though, even it they don’t go out until December 24th!

I’ve received a few awesome products from some great companies recently and want to take some time to review them for you today. First up, Adora Calcium Supplements.

I’ve been a fan of these for years, so when Adora offered to send me some, I happily said yes! I really enjoy Adora Calcium Supplements because they actually taste like high-quality chocolate and are the perfect “something sweet” at the end of a meal (I save mine for after dinner). Each supplement provides 500mg of calcium, which is 50% of the daily recommended value. They also provide Vitamin D3 and magnesium for optimal absorption of adequate calcium. Osteoporosis runs in my family, so getting adequate calcium and taking care of my bones has always been important to me. Just a note though- it is possible to get too much calcium, so be sure not to go overboard.

Adora Calcium Supplements come in both dark and milk chocolate. I’m not much of a milk chocolate fan, so I had only bought dark in the past. However, this milk chocolate is pretty darn good – every bit as delicious as the dark.

They also make a great addition to High Fiber/Protein Chocolate Orange Muffins. :)

Mmmm… I need to go make one of those.

Next, we have Hippie Butter Hemp Seeds.

I’ve been hearing a lot about hemp and how great it is over the past several months, and was starting to get curious. It was perfect timing when Hippie Butter sent me a bag of shelled hemp seeds to try out. First of all, I absolutely love this company’s name! But more than that- I love these hemp seeds! The flavor is nutty and just delicious. I like to sprinkle them on top of a salad, but you can also put them on yogurt, in/on top of smoothies, or just eat them by the spoonful. Hemp seeds are protein rich and a good source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids.

On to Angry Orchard Apple Cider:

I was recently sent three different varieties of hard cider from Angry Orchard to try out. I’ll be honest- I’m not much of a hard cider fan. I’ve only ever found one or two that I could drink more than a few sips of. Most are too sweet or too dry for me, and I’ll usually choose beer instead. So, I was a little hesitant to try this one out. I was pleasantly surprised when I did- they taste great! Not too sweet or bitter- just pure, delicious apple flavor! I haven’t tried the apple ginger flavor yet, but I’m thinking that it’s going to be my favorite.

And last, Dandy Blend:

Dandy Blend has appeared several times on my blog before, because I love it so much. And it was very nice of them to send me a free bag! I discovered Dandy Blend a few years ago when a co-worker brought me some to try out. I had given up caffeine, and she said that it was a fabulous alternative. It comes in a powder form and is similar to instant coffee.

It’s made of dandelion, chicory and beet roots, barley and rye grains and has a smooth, delicious texture. I like to mix mine 50/50 with almond water and milk with a hint of stevia. It’s delicious hot or cold- and it dissolves in either temperature too! If you haven’t tried Dandy Blend yet, you’re missing out! You can order it on iherb.com, and if you use the code QIR197 ,you can get up to $10 off of your first order and free shipping on orders over $20!
