Hey there!
So, did you survive the great blizzard of 2013?
I had a feeling that we wouldn’t end up getting a lot of snow, despite the predictions calling for anywhere from 12 to 20 inches, and it turns out I was right! People in Maryland really love to freak out if there’s even a threat of school. All kinds of businesses and schools were closing the night before (and it hadn’t even started yet)- and there was a state of emergency declared! Best to err on the side of caution, I guess. Sigh.
I’m not complaining though- I certainly enjoy a snow day every now and then!
Back in January, I posted this survey that was inspired by Jenny, and then it seemed to pop up on every single blog I read! I totally get it, because it’s a pretty fun survey to fill out! And let’s face it… us bloggers love taking any opportunity to talk about ourselves, right?
Somehow I completely forgot about updating this post last month, but am getting right back on the Currently wagon today.
Currently: March
Current books: I’m reading two! I downloaded The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin to read on Fridays when I cardio before teaching Bodypump and Weight Loss Boss by David Kirchhoff (the CEO of Weight Watchers) to read at home. I’m about half way through both.
Current music: I am loving Ben Taylor (the son of James Taylor and Carly Simon). I could listen to him sing all day long…
Current guilty pleasure: The Bachelor. It’s so horrible, yet I can’t tear myself away….
Current nail color: None! Again, I’m planning to apply some Jamberry shields asap!
Current drink: My post-workout smoothie, with spinach and NuNaturals peppermint stevia added. It’s like a Shamrock Shake!
Current food: I’m about to make this atypical savory breakfast again. Mmmm…. #yolkporn, just for Janetha.
Current favorite show: Of what’s currently on tv: Survivor and The Amazing Race! I love both and would love to be on one of them someday (can you guess which?)
Current wish list: A seamless move across the country (when the time comes) and a wonderful job waiting for me in Denver.
Current needs: Patience- lots of it. And the need to remind myself that I can’t always control every situation, but I certainly can control the way I react (I think we all need this reminder sometimes!)
Current triumphs: I haven’t chewed a single stick of gum for 11 days now, and have also been free from mindless snacking for the same amount of time! I feel really good about both. ![]()
Current bane of my existence: I’m going back to patience here and trying to find it. I think I need more yoga.
Current celebrity crush: Paul Rudd. Always, always, always. (this will be my answer every month!)

Current indulgence: Chocolate anything. And beer. Beer and chocolate. Chocolate and beer.
Current blessing: My husband. He’s so patient, supportive and wonderful.
Current slang: Squeeze your glutes! I know it’s not slang, but I say it at least 50 times a week.
Current outfit: I pretty much live in this…

Current excitement: I get to see my wonderful friend Gretchen again this weekend when she comes to Frederick for Restaurant Week!
Current mood:
Pretty good! The sun is shining today and I’m going to go with that whole glass half full approach. Plus, it’s almost the weekend.
Current link: Greatist. I LOVE IT.
What’s going on with you [currently]?

Currently really enjoying Instagram. How did I “survive” so long without it?
Aaaaaand I love you even more, if that was possible. Ben Taylor is amazing! I’ve seen him live a few times. I totally cried when he told the story behind “After it’s Over”. (It’s super long to type out here, but I’ll email it to you if you become obsessive like I am. lol) He’s kinda dreamy in person. How can you NOT be with two parents like that?
HaHaHa! I blogged about my snow run yesterday. It’s a good thing my husband and I got out early in the morning, or I would have been so upset that we were running in the rain instead of snow! At least we got a little taste of winter… Now I’m ready for spring!!!
I’m squeezing my glutes to say congrats on being gum free!
I wasn’t a Paul Rudd fan until I watched him on The Daily Show the other night. He’s got a crazy mustache going on and I love it, and he was so freakin’ charming and adorable.
Three cheers for chocolate and beer!
I’ve never had a runny egg. Of course, this is probably because I can’t hardly look at them. haha
I say that too–either squeeze your glutes or squeeze your butt. My classes get a HUGE kick out of this
Heheh.
CONGRATS on being gum freeeeee!!
patience is a HARD virtue for me too….ugh.
My current indulgence is similar to yours . . . just last night . . . wine and chocolate! Totally hit the spot. Way to go with no gum!
Haha – i remember the snow crazies in Atlanta, it’s very much the same. Panic over 1/2 an inch predictions were typical. My how things have changed.
Yes!!!!! Ben taylor!!! Have you heard Wicked way? It’s very funny…though I must say I am James Taylor biggest fan. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree:)
I love these surveys!! I still can’t do a dippy egg!!! I’m too chicken. lol
The Happiness Project is GREAT! If you love Paul Rudd, you need to see This is 40….it’s freaking hilarious!
dippy eggs are my favorite! Yum! Ha I love how you tagged Janetha after she let us all know how much she loves yolkporn
I love this survey! I’ve done it a couple times myself
. I’m currently waiting on the Happiness Project from the library. But I think there’s a good 13 people ahead of me so….maybe I’ll get it next year?
I think I need some of that peppermint stevia. Shamrock Shake taste = divine.
I can relate to so many of your currently’s! Tonight we’re going out with some peeps, and I felt so fancy putting on my jeans, haha!
And yeah – patience. Stupid patience!
I still don’t get the Paul Rudd thing so more for you!!!
I need Lance and Jackson here in Colorado (you and Greg would be nice as well
)
I LOVED this survey (and was one of the people who stole it)! I actually thought about how I needed to do one in February, and then February was gone. Perhaps March? Maybe?
I will send good vibes your way with all of the moving craziness, and I am SO proud of you for kicking that gum habit. It is one I have not shaken…although some days are worse than others.
I am new to your blog and love it! I LOVE Ben Taylor and if you ever get the chance to see him on concert GO! My husband and I saw him in Salt Lake City this year and we both agree it was the best concert we’ve seen in a long time. Plus, the tickets were only $15! He’s so funny too and tall!
Ahhh, Shamrock shake…I know what’s happening at some point tomorrow!! Hey, I’ve got to be festive!
