Hello there, Monday!
Ahhh… what a beautiful weekend it was. I am so happy that the weather has taken a turn for the better and it looks like spring is just around the corner! It was sunny and warm(ish) both Saturday and Sunday here in Maryland- and it’s been a long time where we had an entire weekend of great weather. Greg and I made sure to take full advantage and get out there any enjoy it!
Saturday is a wonderful day. It’s the one day each week that we don’t set alarm clocks or have to wake up early to go anywhere. I am perfectly content sleeping in and being lazy all morning long, and that’s exactly what we did! We finally got around to making breakfast and getting dressed and decided to take the boys out for a nice long walk.
I have to say, there are few simple pleasures in life that compare to walking a dog. I love it.
This photo wasn’t posed at all…
We spent a good amount of time inside during the afternoon cleaning and doing general housework because, unfortunately, that stuff just has to get done. But, we did head back out later in the afternoon to walk around Downtown Frederick for a bit.
We also met up with one of our favorite couples: Sean and Gretchen!
I’ve gotten to hang out with Gretchen three times within the past month- I am one lucky girl!
After posing by the water for a while (thank you for being patient Sean and Greg
), we went to have dinner at The Wine Kitchen. Since it was Frederick Restaurant Week, we had to take advantage and dine at one of the best places downtown! The Wine Kitchen never fails to disappoint, and our meal was spectacular. I’ll elaborate more on that on Wednesday.

Sunday morning was rough. I had to wake up early to teach my 8:00 Spinning class, but because of daylight savings, lost an hour of sleep. Setting the clocks forward always seems to mess me up a bit. The beer and wine that I had the night before didn’t really make it any easier to get out of bed and find the energy to teach. But, somehow I pulled through.
By the time I got home, I felt more awake, but definitely not 100%. I knew that getting some fresh air would help! Since it was another gorgeous day outside, I suggested to Greg that we go for a hike on one of our favorite local trails. As soon as we got out on the trail, we were greeted with these conditions:
Uh oh. We didn’t count on there being any snow up there! Luckily it was only snowy/slushy/muddy in certain parts, and most of the trail was nice and dry.
We had to stop at the overlook where we got married and get a (bright) self portrait.
It was such a clear, beautiful day!
After our hike, we headed over to my dad and stepmom’s house to visit and have lunch. They had gotten a few pizzas and also set up this wonderful salad bar!
It was a very nice way to end up such a delightful weekend.
I am officially ready for spring!
Are you ready for warmer weather? Does daylight savings time mess you up at all?

Yes, I’m definitely ready for spring! It was 70 degrees out yesterday here, but it’s supposed to get back into the high 50s this week, I think. Boo.
I cannot wait for warmer weather!! Looks like a great weekend, with all that time outdoors. Beautiful!
It’s still chilly and more snow is expected here this week (minnesota) but I’m SO READY for spring! Even in upper 20s/lower 30s weather yesterday, I took a long walk outside.
It’s amazing how spring weather can totally change my mood and energy levels. Glad you had a very nice weekend! My hubby got out his antique garden tractors and my 7 year old son got to drive them. Stuff memories are made of.
It was a beautiful weekend here too! I’m MORE than ready for warmer weather. I loooove spring and summer. And I agree, there’s not much better than a walk with dogs on a gorgeous day!
I am SO over Spring. Can’t wait for it to start getting consistently warmer!
Sounds like you had an awesome weekend!
Wait a minute… don’t you mean you’re so over WINTER? We need to hang out before I move!!
I do not like losing an hour, but darker mornings and lighter nights are definitely my thing! Looks like a fantastic weekend
I am beyond ready for spring. I don’t mind DST after I get used to it, but that 630a wake up call to play softball yesterday definitely felt like 530a. Big time.
I am SO ready for spring! The walk with the dogs looks like such a nice place to walk. I have a hard time finding nice/safe places to walk Bentley.
So ready for spring! I love when it stays light out later so we can take our dogs on a long walk after dinner… Such a great way to end the day (vs bundling up for a quick lap around our building in the cold/ dark!).
It was beautiful here too!! Love it.
Today was SO hard to teach–it totally was messed up b/c of daylight svngs!
I’m worn out today from my weekend + daylight savings, but I’m SO excited we finally have our extra hour of daylight back. Yipee!!
Yes, it was hard to get up this morning to see my first client; and then I goofed up and showed up at her house 3o minutes earlier than I’d said I’d be there. And I’m having trouble staying awake right now as I get caught up on facebook, blogs, etc!
I am officially ready for SPRING!!!
Lovely pics, I am super excited for spring time!
I was bummed to have daylight savings this week when I have to wake up earlier for my new job – haha. Other than that — bring on the springtime!!!!
I’m over Winter. Bummed that we got more snow overnight. I look forward to sunshine and mess-free walks with the dogs!
I am always so impressed by how well you and Greg take advantage of the outdoors. I fail always with that. [Sigh] I’m also impressed that you remembered it was daylight savings time. Good thing I didn’t have to teach on Sunday…and that my phone changed automatically!
Love the at-home salad bar. Love it.
I LOVE that first pic of you and Greg! You look sooooo cute! I am beyond ready for spring! This winter weather has seemed to go on forever! It’s finally been sunny around here lately and I’ve been doing my best to soak some of it in…even if that just means hobbling outside on the front porch!
